日本環境設計株式会社（以下、当社　代表取締役社長：髙尾 正樹、所在地：東京都千代田区）は、フランス リヨンにおいて当社のポリエステルリサイクル技術を導入した工場の建設及び衣料品リサイクルの事業化に向けた現地調査を、リヨンの繊維組合TECHTERA（以下、テクテラ）と共同で開始いたします。

本事業はリヨン経済開発公社の働きかけにより検討が開始、2014年に日本の経済産業省とフランスの経済・財務省の間で締結された繊維に関する協力覚書（MOC）に基づく日仏共同プロジェクト推進事業のひとつとして行われます。この調査は、経済産業省の「平成30年度質の高いインフラの海外展開に向けた事業実施可能性 調査事業（二次公募）」の委託事業にも採択されています。

当社のポリエステルリサイクル技術は、近年社会問題として取りざたされている売残り繊維製品の焼却問題や、海洋プラスチックごみ問題に対する解となる可能性があり、この調査において海外における当社の技術展開の実現性を検討する機会ともとらえています。

【日本環境設計】フランス リヨンにおける衣料品リサイクルの事業化に向けた調査事業開始のお知らせ

JEPLAN, Inc. (“JEPLAN” CEO: Masaki Takao; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce the start of on-site research on construction of a plant equipped with the Company’s polyester recycling technology and commercialization of clothing recycling with TECHTERA, European innovation textile cluster, based in Lyon, FRANCE.

The research will be conducted as part of efforts to promote the Japan-France joint project based on a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on Textiles signed in 2014 between the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Japan and the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance. Also, it was first encouraged by Aderly, the Economic Development Agency for the Lyon area for investment. In addition, this research has been selected as a commissioned project for METI’s project feasibility study for the overseas expansion of quality infrastructure in FY2018 (secondary offering).

JEPLAN’s polyester recycling technology may offer solutions to the issues of incineration of unsold textile products and marine plastic waste, both of which have been discussed extensively as social issues in recent years. JEPLAN regards the research as an opportunity to consider the feasibility of global expansion of its technology.
