BRING™, operated by JEPLAN, INC., (Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao, "JEPLAN") will be running the “FUCOUPON Campaign” (hereafter “this campaign”) in collaboration with eight partner companies to promote the recycling of textile products from Friday, November 15 to Sunday, December 1, 2024*. By distributing coupons and points to consumers who have cooperated in the collection of textile products such as clothes that they no longer wear, we will encourage them to collect these items as resources rather than throwing them away as waste, and promote resource recycling.

*Please check the special website for the campaign period and textile products to be collected as they vary from company to company.

The total amount of clothing disposed of as combustible and noncombustible waste in Japan is approximately 470,000 tons per year, of which only about 5% is recycled, and the percentage of clothing given away that is reused or recycled is very small. Most of the reasons why clothes are discarded as garbage are because "it does not require much effort and labor," and a means to encourage reuse and recycling in a way that does not require much effort and labor and is also beneficial to consumers will be sought.*1

This campaign is a collaboration with 8 partner companies (Atsugi, KOJITUSANSO, SAPPORO REAL ESTATE, Tokyo Soir, Tobu Hope Center, Ikebukuro Station West Exit Underground Mall, MAC HOUSE, Romance Kosugi, GOLD FLAG ) that are committed to sustainable management and business, and will collect at 348 locations throughout Japan and Online and other collection services will be available. Through the collection of a variety of textile products, not limited to clothing, in consumers' immediate spheres of life, the program aims to stimulate interest in and action toward reuse and recycling. Partner companies will issue discount coupons and points that can be used at their stores to those who bring in eligible textile products, thereby providing consumers with an opportunity to participate in reuse and recycling (Reuse/Recycle) at a discount.

BRING plans to continue inviting partner companies to participate in this campaign to promote the recycling of not only clothing but also a wide variety of textile products. BRING plans to continue inviting partner companies to participate in this campaign in order to promote the recycling of not only clothing but also a variety of textile products.

The JEPLAN Group will continue to work together with domestic and overseas partners to realize its mission of "We circulate our world," and the group as a whole will strive to drive the circular economy.

Outline of "FUCOUPON Campaign" (https://bring.org/pages/fucoupon)

This campaign not only reuses and recycles clothing and other textile products (Reuse/Recycle), but also reduces the burden of consumers not knowing where to bring their clothing and the cost burden of using discount coupons, and also reduces CO₂ emissions by achieving resource recycling (Reduce).

Collected clothing and other textile products are reused and recycled in the market using various recycling technologies. Of these, 100% polyester clothing is recycled into recycled polyester resin using proprietary technology in response to market demand, and is used as raw material for BRING, our own apparel brand.

About BRING™ (https://bring.org/)

BRING works with consumers, companies, and local governments to implement the circular economy by collecting unwanted clothing, used plastic bottles, and other items, recycling them into raw materials and new products through reuse and various recycling technologies, and circulating them to the market and consumers. We are implementing the Circular Economy into society by developing a variety of businesses based on this circulation. Furthermore, by using proprietary technologies to produce recycled materials that can be recycled again and again from unwanted clothing (subject to polyester) and used plastic bottles, we are contributing to the realization of a sustainable, recycling-oriented society.
As of October 1, 2024, there were 3604 collection sites (including spot events).
