BRING™, operated by JEPLAN( Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao; hereinafter “JEPLAN”) Corporation, in collaboration with Kanko Gakuseifuku Co., Ltd., ( Representative Director, President: Shigeru Ozaki; hereinafter “Kanko Gakuseifuku”) is working with Fukuoka City, Kitakyushu City, Munakata City, Numata City in Gunma Prefecture and Hikone City in Shiga Prefecture on the School uniforms and Gym Uniform Recycling Project, which aims to circulate resources from uniform to uniform, at some public junior high and high schools in the school district to start collecting unwanted school uniforms and gym uniforms through BRING's clothing collection platform in some public junior high schools and high schools in the school districts.

The month of June, "Environment Month," is designed to remind people of the importance of environmental issues and to encourage concrete actions toward environmental conservation. Under the motto of "Learning and practicing a recycling-oriented society at school" to realize a recycling-oriented society together with children, who are the bearers of the future, this project has started with efforts to collect school uniforms and gym uniforms at schools in order to circulate them without discarding them. In the future, we aim to recycle the collected school uniforms and gym uniforms into raw materials for clothing using JEPLAN's proprietary technology, and to develop products such as school uniforms and gym uniforms using these raw materials. Efforts to address environmental issues start with the accumulation of small actions by each and every one of us. By presenting this project during Environment Month in June, we hope to deepen children's interest in environmental issues and provide them with an opportunity to take action toward the realization of a sustainable society.

In order to successfully recycle uniforms from one school uniform to another, it is essential to have the cooperation of all parties involved, including students, parents, schools, local governments, and recycling companies. It is important to work on solving issues from their respective standpoints and to achieve sustainable resource recycling of uniforms. We have already started working with junior high and high schools in Aichi and Osaka prefectures, and have now decided to collaborate with Fukuoka City, Kitakyushu City, Munakata City, Numata City, and Hikone City. We will start collecting uniforms and gym uniforms by installing original collection boxes at some model schools in the school districts. By providing children with opportunities to think, learn, and practice independently through their school uniforms and gym uniforms, which are familiar teaching materials for the realization of a recycling-oriented society, it is hoped that the program will help children develop habits of behavior for the future and arouse interest within their own families, starting with the children themselves.

The JEPLAN Group will continue to work together with domestic and overseas partners to realize its mission of "bringing everything into circulation," and the entire group will work together to drive the circular economy.

Outline of " School uniforms and Gym Uniform Recycling Project" (https://kanko-gakuseifuku.co.jp/company/bring)

This initiative aims to create a circular economy with children, who are the bearers of the future, by reusing and recycling school uniforms and gym uniforms filled with "memories" rather than throwing them away. Starting with the collection of uniforms and gym uniforms to be circulated instead of thrown away, we aim to develop school uniforms and gym uniforms that can be circulated again and again in the future, using the recycled raw material "BRING Material™". The goal of the project is to provide children, who will be responsible for the future, with opportunities to think independently and learn through seminars and lectures on how to recycle collected uniforms as a lesson on resource recycling related to clothing.

BRING™ (https://bring.org/)

BRING, a brand that implements the "Make Clothes from Clothes®" circular economy in society, collaborates with various apparel brands to collect used clothes. Clothes made of 100% polyester fiber are recycled into BRING Material™, a 100% fiber-based recycled polyester, using JEPLAN's proprietary PET chemical recycling technology, BRING Technology™, and are then reincarnated as raw materials for new clothes and other clothing. The material is then recycled into new clothing and other raw materials.
